Hi Terry B - good to know I wasn't the only one - I did get it to work, but then decided to leave it separate until all the stripes are complete - could be a struggle where they come together in the corner :) Good Luck to everyone!
Joining the top and bottom units
I had quite a time joining the top and bottom units. I think the easiest way is to leaving more and 1/4 inch on the vertical seams... at least an inch. Join all the horizontal seams first. Then go back and complete the vertical seams. It is touch to do when the paper is still attached. I removed the paper around the seam area only, then joined. It was quite a wrestling match! But it is done and worth the effort. It looks cute. Now I'm starting on the snowflakes (week 10) Terry B Sept 9 -
Fall Project
Now that I have all the trees, I will begin the Flag. I figure that if I cannot get any further than doing all the trees by end of Fall, I will just put a border around them and add embellishment. They will be my "2012 Christmas Tree Farm". Then next year I can work on the stripes! Eventually, this entire quilt will come together and be quilted. But each section is charming in and of itself. I can already envision each pieced but unquilted stripe forming a chain on the tree until all are ready to be assembled into a flag!
Confused!
I must be missing something?? All the trees are done, top and bottom sections are together and ready to join top to bottom?? Please explain how this is supposed to work.
Pattern I've been waiting for!
I have a bag of Christmas scraps and whites left from 20 years of quilt projects. When I saw the fabric requirements I was thrilled to realize I would not have to buy more fabric. I'm starting late and will be make one section at a time.
Can't wait for the next week.
Even tho I am lagging behind.... (I'm on tree 16), I can't wait for the "stripes" to "materialize". This has been fun. Terry B
Exciting!
This will be POD!! Can't wait to see how large this is.
