Last Dance in the Arctic

Kathy McNeil’s quilt Last Dance in the Arctic makes a powerful statement about the perils of global warming. You can see Kathy’s polar bears in “Photo Finish” in the December 2008/January 2009 issue of QN. And here’s the label on the quilt’s back, showing a creature that’s also endangered and just as captivating.

VERY MOVING
MY FIRST SIGHT OF THIS QUILT WAS AT A SHOW AND THE IMPACT WAS TREMENDOUS. I JUST STOOD THERE AND CRIED, MOSTLY IN RESPONSE TO THE MESSAGE BUT ALSO TO THE BEAUTY OF THE QUILT. THIS IS ART THAT TRULY DRAWS ONE IN.
Stunning!
Just beautiful. What a wonderful way to show what will be lost if we all don't do our part to slow global warning.
