L’eau coule, le temps passe by Liesbeth Spaans
In our February/March issue the article Splendor of Alhambra: Mosaic Tile Quilts mentioned that quilter Elly Prins had quilted all the quilts in the exhibit. However, Elly quilted only two of them: the group quilt Zelliges de Marrakech and Liesbeth Spaans’s quilt L’eau coule, le temps passe, pictured here.
All other quilts were quilted by their makers. We thank Cathy Picaut for bringing this to our attention.

the link above mentions a free pattern that goes with Splendor of Alhambra – and the link leads to a pattern named Soul. Is there a pattern available for the Alhambra mosaic quilt whose photo appears in the correction notice? stars and shapes wandering from pattern at top to lower left. It’s a fantastic quilt.

We write all the patterns for Quilters Newsletter magazine here at our offices in Colorado. Unfortunately we were not able to get the Alhambra quilts sent here, so there are no patterns for any of them other than Soul, which I designed based on one of the quilts in the collection. I’m sorry we never got to see them in person. They were all gorgeous.
The photo on the correction notice is our cover quilt for the Feb/March issue. That one is called Fiesta De Talavera by New Mexico quilter J. Michelle Watts. We only rarely pattern cover quilts, but the feature article that went along with it did explain how J. Michelle went about designing her blocks.
