  1. Zina says:

You would need 1/2 yard each of four different green fabrics, for a total of 2 yards. Beautiful quilt!

  2. Centella Tucker says:

Two yards of green and the luck of the Irish!

  3. When answering the question, make sure to tell us how much *Twinkle* fabric is needed. It’s called out separately in the pattern. Incorrect answers will not be considered for the prize!

  4. Arlene Simpson says:

There are 4 colors of green: requirement is for 1/2 yard of each of the 4 greens making 2 yards total. I really want to win this, as I plan to make this quilt and even have a quilt date with a long-armer for July/August time frame. This would help out my meager (non-existant) budget so much. This quilt is stunning! Hope I can do it justice. Green .. ha ha. today is St. Patrick’s day and I have on my green outfit to go walk.

  5. Arlene Simpson says:

oops, revision of answer: of green twinkle: 1-7/8 yards.

  10. Kim Hazlett says:

1/2 yard each of the St. Patty’s Day Green for a total of 2 yards of the most beautiful green to celebrate this wonderful day – Happy St. Patricks Day.

  11. Rachel says:

Well, lets see. Green 1,2,3,4, 1/2 yard each would be 2 yards total. Hope I win!

  12. Nancy says:

I think you will need 1 1/2 yards of the twinkley fabric…..And I hven’t gotten my issue yet either!

  13. Joan says:

You will need 1 7/8 yards of green Twinkle fabric to make that quilt.

  14. Michael says:

As I don;t have my issue yet, I’ll trust my fellow quilters that it’s 2 yds, or is that 1 7/8, or 1 1/2

  15. Margaret Andrews says:

You need 1 7/8 yards of Twinkle Green fabric. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all.

  19. Susan says:

1 7/8 yards of Twinkle green are needed. With the Luck of the Irish I will win some of this beautiful fabric. If not -someone who appreciates it just as much will.

  20. Juliette says:

I’m going to say 4 yds total…2 for the front and 1-7/8 for the back

    Gorgeous quilt

  21. Sheila Fernkopf says:

You need 1 7/8 yards of Twinkle green. This quilt is a great reminder that spring and all of the beautiful colors will soon be here. I would love to win Twinkle fabric! Thank you for giving us the chance.

  22. Gloria Charlton says:

1 7/8 yds of Twinkle green…. love this fabric and this pattern…

  23. JoAn GODFREY says:

1 7/8 YARDS of green twinkle fabric

  24. The magazine article says 1/2 yds each of the Green 1.2. 3, 4. This is really not clear since the fabric is an ombre meaning each wof has all four colors.

  25. Cathy Walker says:

You would need 1 7/8 yards of Twinkle Green. Thanks for the opportunity to win this really cool fabric. I’ve never used anything like these fabrics – I always use “safe” pastels. I’d love to have an excuse to step out of the box and take a chance with something different.
    Good luck everyone!
    Cathy

  26. robin says:

You need 1 and 7/8 yards of Twinkle green fabric. :)

  27. Jan says:

You need 1 7/8 yards of Twinkle green.
    Great quilt!

The pattern calls for 2 yards but apparently you only use 1 7/8 of it.

  29. Claire says:

You need 1 7/8 yard of twinkle green. so pretty!

  30. Connie Kauffman says:

The pattern calls for 1/2 yd each of 4 different greens

  31. After looking at the pattern requirements, I decided I would need 2 yards of Twinkle green even though the requirement list says 1 7/8 yds. A little extra is always a good thing.

  32. mimi says:

    green 1,2,3,4; half yard each

  33. mary says:

You need 62″ of twinkle green fabric, or about 1 and 3/4 yards, but of course to account for any shrinkage, etc I would have to say 1 7/8 yards. Oh and then there’s the “multiplier-to-build-the-stash” effect, rounding it to almost exactly three yards. Happy St. Pat’s!

  34. Karen S says:

In the little oval at the side it suggests 1 7/8 yards of Twinkle Green — but I would buy at least 2 1/2 yards so I would have a little extra for my stash.

  35. Sharon S says:

Definitely would need 1 7/8 of the gorgeous twinkle green to sparkle my quilt.

  36. Jan says:

You need 1 7/8 yards of the green twinkle fabric.

  37. Silvia W says:

2 yrs total of the greens, but I would always buy a little extra, in case I cut something wrong, or to add to my stash.

  38. Silvia W says:

2 yrds total of the greens, but I would always buy a little extra, in case I cut something wrong, or to add to my stash.

  39. BJ MacKinnon says:

I’m up here in Canada and haven’t accessed a copy yet. I’m going to go with my friends that say I need 1/2 yard of each green Twinkle fabric x 4 which equals 2 yards which somehow is converted to 1 7/8 yards. It looks like a gorgeous pattern /fabric line so I’d probably buy more that the requirements ask for. Can’t wait to see it. Thanks for the opportunity to win .

  40. Brita says:

I need 1 7/8 yd of Twinkle Green, please :-)

  41. Okay, the contest is closed as of 4:00 PM MDT. I’m going to do a drawing from the correct entries we have received so far!

  42. If you look on page 59 you will see that the correct answer was 1-7/8 yards of green Twinkle fabric. (We allowed more fabric if you were using your own because there might be more waste if you were trying to get all the different hues of each color.)

Our winner, chosen only from the correct responses, is:
    Gloria Charlton!

Gloria, please email your postal address to submissions [at] qnm.com

    Congratulations!

By the way, for those who were figuring in shrinkage – we do all that for you when we write the pattern, so all you need to buy is what is listed. There’s no math involved (for you!)

Thanks for participating and look for more contests in the coming weeks!

  43. Gloria says:

I am so excited to have won… thank you and will be looking forward to getting the fabric…

  44. Maeve says:

I hope the next time you do a contest/giveaway, you tell us when it will close. Here it is the same day and I am just now looking at my emails and it is already done and over! Lucky winner that she got in under the wire . . .

  45. 1 and 7/8 yards of the twinkle green are needed for the quilt! love how it looks.

  46. Hi Maeve,
I’m sorry for that oversight. Future contests will definitely include the date and time it closes. Some last for a week and others only a day. Since this was a St. Patrick’s Day contest, I wanted to close it the same day.

There is another contest where you could win one of two books. That one closes this afternoon (March 18) at 4:00 MDT. Here is the link:

  48. Kelly Hagen says:

Based on the articles information from the materials an cutting the required amount is 2 yards. The Got Twinkle? sidebar states you need 1 7/8 yards of the green Twinkle fabric.

  49. kat solomon says:

Congratulations Gloria! I just love this magazine. I look forward to additional contests.” Quilters are an awesome breed” Kudos to all of you.
