This is the first giveaway of kids fabric we’re doing to celebrate the release of Best Quilts for Kids, hitting newsstands and stores next Tuesday, June 14 and already on-sale online. But believe-you-me, it will not be the last! We’ve got a lot of great fabric courtesy of all of your favorite fabric manufacturers, and we want you to have it to make a great quilt for that great kid in your life.
We’re kicking things off with a stack of 23 fat quarters from the Little Menagerie collection by Melanie Hurlston for Windham Fabrics. This cheery collection is perfect for babies and young children. It can be broken out into “boy” and “girl” colorways, but we love how the entire collection works together.
We featured the collection in the Menagerie pattern on page 70 of Best Quilts for Kids, designed and made by Bethany Fuller. Straightforward piecing and quick fusible applique make this 43″ x 43″ quilt one you can finish in a weekend. You could use the fat quarter collection to make scrappy-but-perfectly-coordinated version of your own.
Here’s how to play: Leave us a comment before 9:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Thursday, June 9. It’s as easy as that. We will pick one comment at random, and the winner will receive the Little Menagerie fat quarter bundle and a copy of Best Quilts for Kids. We will approve comments left overnight in the morning, so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment immediately. I love making quilts for children have also done some for Shriners children. This material is so beautiful and can be used for either boy or girl. I just had a granddaughter I still need to make a quilt for.
the thing about quilting is you can enjoy all age groups in quilting and kids quilting is the best….
