And just like that, it’s October already! Welcome to the final Best Quilts for Christmas 2011 fabric giveaway. We have not one, not two, but four different fabric bundles to give you this week, so let’s get started.
First, we have Snowman’s Land from Michael Miller Fabrics.
We featured Snowman’s Land in Snow Globe, 41″ x 48″, designed by Ellen Maxwell, which you’ll find on page 78 of Best Quilts for Christmas.
Quick and easy applique (truly!) and a candy cane inner border and binding that you cut on the bias — we show you how — are combined for a whimsical throw you can finish well before the holidays begin.
The second fabric bundle we’re giving away this week is Always Believe by Arlene Neely from Red Rooster Fabrics.
The soft pastels are a departure from typical Christmas colors, making it a lovely collection for year-round decorating or for baby’s first Christmas.
Always Believe would be a great collection to use for Star Garden, designed by Debbie Stojanik, on page 63 of BQC.
The pattern for this 73″ x 82″ quilt includes instructions for making the coordinating pillowcases.
The third collection up for grabs this week is an 8-step fat quarter bundle of Christmas Rose from Cherrywood Fabrics.
You have to see Cherrywood Fabrics in person to get the full effect of their suede-like, hand-dyed process.
We can easily see using Christmas Rose in Music of the Season, a 22″ x 94″ bed runner designed by Carol Streif that you’ll find on page 72 of BQC.
And finally, the fourth fabric collection in this week’s giveaway also comes from Michael Miller Fabrics — a cool and crisp selection of Fairy Frosts in varying shades of blue.
We used these same shades — Blue, Crocus, Periwinkle, Powder and Cloud — in Crystal, designed by Angie Hodapp.
This 74″ x 90″ bed quilt gets its wintry sparkle through the careful placement of color values. Quick strip-piecing techniques make the two-block design a great pattern for confident beginners. You’ll find it on page 51 of BQC.
If you’d like a chance to win one of these four giveaways, leave a comment below before 11:59 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Sunday, October 9. You may tell us which bundle is your favorite, but we can’t guarantee that you’ll receive it if your name is drawn. We will pick four comments at random, and the winners will each receive a fabric bundle and a copy of Best Quilts for Christmas, still on sale at newsstands, book stores, quilts shops, craft stores and online. (At only $9.99 for 28 projects and patterns, it’s a fantastic value.) Come back and check this blog post on Monday to see if you’re a winner.
Comments left after 5:00 p.m. and over the weekend will be approved the next business day, so don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up right away. This giveaway is open to people who haven’t already won something from Quilters Newsletter in the last 90 days.
Good luck! And remember, the best way to learn about giveaways and contests is to follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
UPDATE: We have winners — four of them, to be exact! The random number generator chose the following:
#115 — Diane Jasmin-Slattery, who will receive the Fairy Frosts
#238 — Chelsea Bailey, who will receive Always Believe
#302 — Sarah, who will receive Snowman’s Land
#106 — Jan Strickland, who will receive Christmas Rose
Thank you to all who entered this drawing! We wish we could play Santa to all of you, but please stay tuned. We’ll soon roll out brand new fabric giveaways in connection with our Best Fat Quarter Quilts special issue, which goes on sale on October 18. We hope you’ll come back to see what we’ve got!

I love all of them. They will make a beautiful quilt.
Love the Fairy Frosts with that sheen and the quilt from them is wonderful!
They’re all differently beautiful.
I love the Fairy Frost Fabric-I have lots of cool ideas for this wonderful giveaway. I could even sew it on a cold Canadian winter day because it’s so lovely-it reminds me of a great day of skiing in the Rockies.
I love the Christmas Rose and Fairy Frost fabrics. Pick me to win! Thanks.
To win any of the bundles would be a real bonus! Thanks.
I like Always Believe & Snowman’s Land; but if I had to pick one, it would definately be Always Believe. When my children were little & getting to the age where they questioned whether or not there really was a Santa Claus, I told them that there was a Santa & if they Always Believe then they would have a good Christmas. Altho, I instilled in them that mommy paid for everything they received at Christmas, it was their belief in Christmas & happiness that made it a great Christmas. The way it worked was they made their listed & gave them to me the day I went to visit “Santa”. I gave him their lists & the money & it was up to him to bring them whatever was on the list that he had enough money for. Usually it was everything but to Always Believe & to this day, my grown Children still believe & I hear them telling my grandchildren the same thing I told them. Because during the Christmas season, anything is possible if you always believe!
I love Fairy Frost I think it will go very well with Snowflake or Blue Willow which I have been searching for quite a few years. I just love the diffrent shadings.
I fell instantly in love with the frosts and the Crystal quilt! All the collections are very pretty. Thank you so much for the chance to win one!
Pick me !!! Beautiful fabrics…. Always believe and fairy frost are my favorites.
I love the snow globe collection–I guess that I am just a kid at heart, and I have always loved snow globes, they are fun to watch!! Thanks Sue
The quilts shown inspire me to get going on some of my projects!!
I love the Fairy Frosts because I am originally from MN where we always had frost on windows, on trees, both bare and Fir.
Such beautiful fabric!!! I LOVE FABRIC!!!
what great christmas fabric. I haven’t made a Christmas quilt yet, so hope to win one of the bundles to make one. Would love to use the fairy frost for a tree skirt.
Nadine
My favorite bundle is the Snowman’s Land. I love the bright colors and the fun design. I’ve just started quilting and am looking forward to making a christmas quilt.
“FABULOUS” fabrics… lots of great ideas… can’t wait to start sewing my Christmas projects. Time to snuggle down for the winter with some of these great fabrics.
Beautiful Christmas fabric. Love, love. love it!
Love, Love, Love them all! How to choose? Not me I want each of these beautiful fabrics and can see a lap quilt, new Christmas bed quilt and ….. the list is endless.
The fabrics stimulate my immagination. The holidays are a time for remembering the elderly folks who often keep some sort of lap covering close by. The Christmas theme is certain to warm their heart every day.
Love all off the collections but my breath is taken away by the Fairy Frost.
I so Love ” Always Believe”. It is soft, gentle and whimsical in appearance which makes it perfect to ” hold that thought” for many things that are happening in our world these days. This is apart from never letting your first childhood memories of Christmas go !!! I also love them all for the same reasons.
My favorite is a tie. I love the Always Believe and Fairy Frost. The others are beautiful also. Very tough choice!
Those Michael Miller Fairy Frost blues are outstanding!!
thanks!
Thanks to all who provided such a generous giveaway and a special thanks to the Quilter’s Newsletter for great giveaways throughout the year! God bless you all.
Really beautiful fabrics. Hoping for a chance to win one of them.
Love the icy blues and pastels!
Each fabric sings of Christmas joy but Snowman’s Land has won my heart.
All the fabrics are great, but I love the Cherrywoods fabric!
I would love to win! All of the fabric bundles look great!
How exciting! Love Music of the Season….what great fabrics!
I love the Fairy Frosts blues from Michael Miller Fabrics. They would sure help me to build a stash of fabrics which I have very little of a fabric stash. I would be happy with any of the collections, tho. Thank you.
Marquita
Fairy Frosts are absolutely beautiful. That is my first love and then the Music for the Season is pretty sweet too!
I love using blue for Christmas. It gives a pop of surprise, and visually matches wintery weather. And I love the “Fairy Frost” fabrics in any color/weather! I like the aqua/blue in the “Snow Globe” fabrics, and again in “Music of the Season.” The blues make the reds so warm-and-cozy looking.
Love the rich colors in the Cherrywood fabrics!
Those Cherrywood fabrics make me feel so warm inside. I can’t wait to snuggle up with them. I hope Santa will be generous this year and send an early present!
Love the Fairy Frost Blues as well as the beautiful quilt from, your magazine!
The Fairy Frosts are my favorites. I have used them in several projects. They come in so many colors and truly make a project look special.
I love Christmas fabric…these are so beautiful…
I have not made a Christmas quilt and absolutely love these fabrics!!!
Oh how beautiful and soft these fabics are. Love them
Over the weekend I picked up the “Best Quilts for Christmas” magazine. I read it today, Halloween. Much to my dismay, when I went to your website, I found out that all the “free stuff” ended yesterday. Today is still October. From the looks of this page, all these bundles were given away way before the end of October. Just wanted you to know that not everyone gets the magazine, or sees the ads, the day it’s published. And I’m not on the computer all the time either. Too busy sewing. I realize you must have deadlines, but you could at least have them thru the next issue printing.
@Gail — I can understand your frustration, and I want to take a minute to address your concerns. The official “display until” date for Best Quilts for Christmas was October 17, and our Best Fat Quarter Quilts issue went on sale the following day, October 18. Because of that, we ended the Christmas giveaways in October to turn our attention to the Fat Quarter issue.
So the bad news is that we aren’t giving away Christmas fabric at this time. The good news is that we’re giving away other fat quarter bundles on a weekly basis through November and into December. The giveaways will be announced on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, and we hope you’ll stick around to see the offerings over the next few weeks.
