One of the really fun things about my job is looking for beautiful quilts. I try to spend time each day looking at quilts online and usually start out by going to a website that I know and clicking on links to see what else is out there. Last week I wound up on a Greek site and found a wonderful quilt. There was a small problem though. I do not speak or read Greek. I can recognize it in printed form but that’s all. I chuckled at the fact that I’d found something wonderful but had no way to check it out any further.
At lunch time I told Joli the story of my beautiful find. She reminded me that some of the search engines have translation capabilities, so I returned to my office and copied a paragraph from the Greek site and pasted it in Google. There was a hot link that said something like “click here for a description of the quilt in English”. I clicked. Guess where the link led me? To Quilters Newsletter! Isn’t that just too funny??
The point I would like to make here is that there is some really beautiful work on our site with patterns and instructions. You might want to spend a while just exploring and see if you find the inspiration for your next project. While you’re at it, like us on Facebook and see all our latest news.
