Two Quilters Newsletter cover quilts won major awards at the Machine Quilters Expo East last week in Providence, Rhode Island. Our current April/May cover quilt, Flourish on the Vine by Kathy K. Wylie, won 2nd place in Wall Hanging Large-Traditional.
And our upcoming June/July cover quilt, America, Let It Shine by Sherry Reynolds, won Best of Show and Best Machine Quilting–Sit Down.
We’re so happy for both of these incredibly talented quilters, and we’re proud to have their work grace our magazine covers.
One of things we love the most about working at QN is that we not only get to see stunning works of art like these in person, but we can get up-close-and-personal with them. We even get to touch them (but only a little bit). And to top it all off, we have the opportunity to get to know the quilters who made them in the course of writing about them and how they work for the On the Cover feature in every issue of Quilters Newsletter. If you haven’t already, pick up a copy of the April/May issue to see more close-ups of the gorgeous applique and quilting work in Flourish on the Vine. And keep your eyes out for the June/July issue, which will go on sale mid-May, for views of the amazing details in America, Let It Shine you won’t see anywhere else. We love “bringing you the pretty!”

Just Wow !!!!
I just picked up the April/May issue last night and just read the article about Flourish on the vine and was very inspired. Her work is beautiful and it is great to hear about her design process.
Thanks so much Mary Kate, your sooooo sweet!
I was at the Machine Quilt Expo last weekend and saw these two quilts up close and personal. I was amazed at the talent exhibited there. I couldn’t figure out why Flourish on the Vine looked so familiar till you just reminded me that it was on the cover of my latest issue that I haven’t finished reading yet. I’m thrilled you are going to feature America, Let it Shine on the June/July cover. I took some photos to show my Mom the quilt (she’s rehabbing in the nursing home following surgery and couldn’t join me) but they don’t do it justice. Thanks for a great publication.
