Flower Power Series Quilt, 2012

When I first saw this incredible quilt in 2010 I was enamoured. Everything about it was eye-catching. The black background, the unusual appliqued flowers, and the incredible quilting that anchored and enhanced the piecing. I could examine Flower Power for hours (and did!).

When introducing the series in our April/May 2012 issue, I noted that it was designed and made by Jane Zillmer of Mercer, Wisconsin, but inadvertently forgot to mention the wonderful machine quilter, Cheri Trexler of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin.

Quilters Newsletter prides itself on giving credit where credit is due, and so a BIG shout out is in order for Cheri. Her attention to detail and love for what she does is obvious in Flower Power, and the quilt earned an Honorable Mention in the Duet Quilts, Wall, category at the 41st Annual National Quilting Association Quilt Show in 2010.
