The internet has become an integral part of my quilting process. Online, I get inspiration, tutorials, patterns, advice, new techniques, occasional chats, fabric I can’t find locally, and yes, sometimes even a chance to win something wonderful in a contest! Speaking of which, thanks for all of your contests! I’ll win one someday!!

  2. Regina Clubb says:

I can be found on the internet most days, looking for any helps I can find for making quilts and quilting them. So many ideas and helps are availabale. I also like looking through quilt magazines online. I love looking for new blocks and quilt ideas. Oh, and the quilting videos. How fun or they??? And love, love, love the contests I run across.

  3. Mary Ferreter says:

I usually “Google” if I am looking for something specific. I also have several newsletters, including “Quilter’s Newsletter’s”, that I receive in my e-mail. Those I can read at my leisure and follow the links. I do have a Facebook account, but don’t spend too much time on it. It seems like just about anyone who is involved in quilting and quilting products has their own website so I go there first.

  4. Gay says:

There is not one thing that can’t be found on the internet in the way of quilting, from youtube videos, blogs, websites, etc. It is a most useful tool and a wealth of knowledge can be obtained just by searching.

  5. jeanne says:

I use internet websites and social media to learn about what is new…I like to look at new fabrics and find if they may be at my LQSs. I use youtube videos to refresh myself on techniques or learn something new. And I like to cross over into other art/craft areas to consider how they may help me with my projects. I learn about quilt shows and events and shops in places where I will be traveling, and to register for events in coordination with my sisters who live in other cities -we love our quilt get-togethers. Isn’t it endless?

  6. Evangeline B Owens says:

I don’t think all of my quilting urges will ever be satisfied but the internet (including Facebook) does help in many ways. I love looking for patterns, color ideas, and use all the tutorials I can find. I have never won anything in my 69 years but thank you for the opportunity to try again.

  7. Carol J says:

For me, searching the internet for anything quilt related is like being in a giant candy store. I can see what’s new in the way of patterns, books and notions, take advantage of quilting lessons, check out new fabric collections and purchase items the I may or may not find at my local quilt shop.

  8. Nancy R says:

I’m an IT girl by trade so the Internet is where I spend a lot of time both at work and play. I buy fabric, books, yarns, and many more items. I also turn to the web for YouTube videos for ‘how to’ quilting related subjects.

  9. Ellen says:

I search for pattern, machine quilting ideas, shop for quilting supplies/fabric, watch videos, and belong to a couple of quilting/sewing message boards.

  10. Marti Parsons says:

I am saturated with online information on quilting. I buy online, I belong to several online quilting communities, I search websites and utube for tutorials and patterns. I am always looking for what’s new, be it a tip, pattern, new product or fabric line. I am signed up for every quilting newletter I have come across and get updates on fb of all my quilting “likes”!!!

  11. susan bernal says:

I buy a few things online, but I much prefer to buy in person at local quilt shops where I can touch and feel, and also see the fabrics myself. The scale and colors are not so clear/accurate online. I follow tons of blogs just to see what creative ideas are out there, and to drool over beautiful work. Meanwhile, I’m afraid I don’t get much done, but I love seeing what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the giveaway.

  12. Margaret Morgan says:

I read quilter’s blogs everyday! Sometimes I’m inspired to try something new–or I get new ideas–or I’m encouraged because they have the same problems/issues that I have with my quilting! Youtube videos are wonderful helpmates. I browse quiltshop websites often –but usually buy from my local quiltshops.

  27. Claudia says:

I use every resource I can find to make quilts. I was left a message by my sister with a long list of cut quilt tops, and who they were for. My sister was a string quilter, also designed some of her own quilts but she was return home and could no long get them done. That’s were I came in, she said if I could learn to cross stitch in a day then do great big pieces that hang in church’s in the area I could finish up the quilts she cut for each of the family. So every resource is needed, I use yours for hints, tips, ideas on how to put something together and in truth just to goggle at the finished items of women who can do so much more then simple me. All help advice and comments on what I’m doing are always appreciated.

  28. Charlene S says:

I read blogs to see what other are doing and I blog to show what I am doing and to ask for help from quilters who have solved the problems I am having. I do buy fabric, tools, and patterns online since several of the LQS have closed and are all a 30 minute or longer drive away. I also use social networking to share and comment on quilting projects with my daughter who live 100+ miles away. Without the internet, I probably wouldn’t be as much of a quilter today.

  29. Amanda Best says:

I love to participate in block swaps from all over the world, which the internet has allowed me to do. Also the vast amount of patterns and assistance available online is priceless! Thank You!

  30. Candace Johnson says:

OMG! I wouldn’t be much of a quilter without the internet! I do most of my fabric shopping on the internet. My closest quilt shop (A Scarlet Thread, McDonough, GA) is more than 100 miles from my house. I love shopping them when I am in the area, but without the internet I wouldn’t have much fabric from which to choose. Since I’m a newer quilter, the internet is my goto for pattern ideas and lessons in quilting. No favorite sites, as I think they are all wonderful and I get great ideas, hints, tips, etc. from them all. And the blogs…where to begin? I love reading them; especially the ones that share their mistakes. Without them, I think I would feel too intimidated to continue this wonderful hobby.

  31. Cheryl Johnson says:

I like to use the internet for design ideas. Often I have colors or fabrics that I want to use together but I cant seem to see the pattern. I love to browse other people’s work, look for patterns and I also shop online. I also like to look and learn about the new gadgets and notions available.

  32. Suzanne says:

I shop online for fabric and patterns. I surf for free patterns and fabric deals. Finally, almost every night I get on Quilters Club of America. Sometimes I comment in the forums, sometimes I look at the wonderful work posted in the gallery, and sometimes I blog about my quilting adventures. It really is amazing to see some of the work being done out there.

  33. MizWasy says:

As a new quilter (super newbie), I use the internet, FB and Pinterest to get ideas for patterns, seek out techniques and connect with other quilters. I even use it to learn how to quilt via online video courses! I’ve discovered a whole new world and have learned how to do things from some of the best instructors in the biz – all while feeling like I got one-on-one lessons from a trusted family friend or relative. How cool is that? Giveaways are pretty cool, too, so if I am lucky to win – Thank you so much (in advance). I’m having sew much fun!

    Hope W.

  34. Pam Stevenson says:

The internet is a great way to find and buy unusual or special items for quiltmaking.
It’s also great for finding bargains… and things I never knew I needed. EBay is fun for buying and selling vintage quilts and related things.

  35. Dale says:

I love the internet for quilting information and videos. I shop for fabric and get to browse new collections. I watch video’s to learn techniques, even to see if there is another way to approach things I already know. I can buy longarm quilting patterns online and browse to my hearts content. I belong to several online yahoo groups that discuss quilting, longarm quilting, my sewing machine, and heirloom sewing. I get free embroidery designs and can buy many, many more.
My problem is getting away from the computer and getting to sewing. There is such a
vast wealth of knowledge on the internet.
    Dale M

  36. Lynda Sink says:

Using the power of the internet makes it more interesting to find ideas for quilts. With a large stash of fabric I want something unusual – sometimes old-fashioned and sometimes a more modern look. Between the various independent websites and those of quilt shops and fabric manufacturers I can always manage to find new ideas. I can also look at long-arm quilting designs and tips. As a new long-armer, I need all the help I can get!

  37. barbara says:

i shop and blog about quilting on the internet. love it thanks for the giveaway

  38. Rhonda Best says:

I use the internet to look for fabrics I like, to search for new quilting ideas, and to find other quilting products I need. Online I can talk to other people from all over the world that quilt, and share stories and photos of our new projects. I enjoy doing the online shop hops with my daughter, following clues and seeing all the colorful fabric. The shop hops have their own face book pages for people to ask questions on and leave comments. They come in quite handy to keep in touch with other quilters.

  39. Rebecca Moore says:

I use the internet find out what is new in the quilting and sewing world. I occasionally use it to find a specific fabric if it is not available locally.

  41. Alice McClurken says:

I find myself spending hours on the computer looking at quilt patterns and designs and save many more than I’ll ever get made into quilts. I have to tear myself away from the computer to SEW on a quilt for awhile. I’ve also found several sites that show how to quilt free motion to finish our quilts. Currently I’m trying to practice enough to be able to free motion quilt on a real quilt.

  42. Mike Pearson says:

I use the internet for my quilting blog (of course) and to find others who share and provide me with inspiration! I love browsing the Flickr pages, pinterest, facebook, even tweets :) I do a lot of shopping online because there are not any good fabric stores near me.

  43. Beth Stern says:

I find tons of inspiratation on the internet. I also use it to shop for fabric and solve problems when they come along.
