12 Days of Best Christmas Quilts Blog Tour — Day 3

Best Christmas Quilts 2012 235x300 12 Days of Best Christmas Quilts Blog Tour Day 3Welcome to day three of the 12 Days of Best Christmas Quilts Blog Tour to kick-off the release of Best Christmas Quilts 2012! We’re excited about this issue — on sale now at a quilt shop, bookstore or newsstand near you or online — and we hope this blog tour gives you an inside look at the many wonderful patterns our talented designers contributed to this special issue.

Speaking of talented designers, today’s featured BCQ designer is one we’ve worked with a number of times, Jen Daly of Jen Daly Quilts, and for good reason: Jen does fantastic work.

In particular, fans of rustic, country or primitive quilt styles will want to take a look at Jen’s designs. Even if you think those terms don’t apply to you, I encourage you to take a closer look at Jen’s work. The care she puts into her quilts is apparent, and her attention to detail is amazing.

We included complete instructions for both the Let It Snow table runner and pillow sham, full-size applique patterns, embroidery motifs and even information on where you can buy some of the bead embellishments Jen used in Best Christmas Quilts. The hand quilting is optional (but adds such a wonderful touch).

Jen also contributed these sweet and simple Calling Birds ornaments. I sewed one to test the pattern, so I can attest that they are fun and easy to make. What a great way to make quick gifts while busting some of your scraps!
