Hello and welcome to Day 8 of our 12 Days of Best Christmas Quilts Blog Tour! Are you having as much fun as we are? I hope everyone’s had time to really explore the featured blogs and perhaps stumbled upon some tips and tricks, new techniques, helpful links, various patterns, great products, stunning galleries — you name it!
Today’s tour is another double-header, which means we want you to visit two talented designers, two awesome blogs, with two chances to win free Christmas fabric!
Featured today is Janet Jo Smith and her blog Threads of Thought. While best known for her beautiful hand-dyed fabrics, Janet Jo also offers airbrushed, painted, and discharged fabrics as well. These unique fibers give her quilts a one-of-a-kind look.
Christmas Poinsettias is a great example of how Janet Jo’s fabrics give the quilt a soft, traditional look–perfect for Christmastime. Check out Janet Jo’s fabrics and other products for yourself on her website DyeSmithy.com.
If you leave a comment on Janet Jo Smith’s blog by midnight MDT tonight – Wednesday, August 29 – you’ll be entered for a chance to win a bundle of fabric courtesy of Timeless Treasures. Comments on this blog will not be entered into the drawing.
The second blog we’re featuring today is Diane Nagle’s Peddlecar Quilts. Diane’s quilts have been pictured in several quilting magazines, including two of our sister publications, and on the cover of our Best Quilts for Christmas 2011.
Diane used a 25″ 9-degree wedge ruler for this intricate-looking tree skirt. The results? No need to match seams, it’s easy to piece, and comes together quickly.
For more on Diane and her designs, visit her blog. If you leave a comment on Diane Nagle’s blog by midnight MDT tonight – Wednesday, August 29 – you’ll be entered for a chance to win fat quarter bundles from Maywood Studio. Comments on this blog are not entered into the prize drawing.
