Hi there! Welcome to the final day of our 12 Days of Best Christmas Quilts Blog Tour! Best Christmas Quilts 2012 is on sale now at your local quilt shop, bookstore, newsstand, or online at the Quilt and Sew Shop. We decided to end the blog tour close to home here on the QN blog – as today’s featured designer and the art director for Best Christmas Quilts 2012, this is where I blog. We also want to thank you all for following the tour over the past couple of weeks. We’ve had a lot of fun, and we saved our biggest giveaway of free Christmas fabric for this last stop on the blog tour.
My pattern for Best Christmas Quilts, “Decorating with Kids,” actually contains three patterns. I had a couple of ideas for quick and easy projects you can do with kids when they’re home on winter break or maybe visiting you during the holidays. They’re all scrap-friendly, stashbusting projects that are great for elementary school-age kids. My young friend shown below and I had a lot of fun making all the projects, but we especially liked the yo-yo trees.
I can envision making more of these quirky trees in white fabrics, metallics and plaids.
You, too, can join the fun. We are giving away a complete set of five yo-yo makers so you can make your own yo-yo forest. And we are also giving you a chance to win five different Christmas fabric bundles, courtesy of Northcott, E.E. Schenck, Michael Miller, FreeSpirit and Hoffman. So whatever your style, these fabrics will have you covered.
Leave a comment below by midnight MDT tonight – Wednesday, September 5 – for a chance to win this gorgeous assortment of fabrics and a complete set of yo-yo makers from Clover Needlecraft, Inc. I will draw one name at random, and that lucky person will win the entire prize package. One comment per person, please. Open to those who haven’t won something from Quilters Newsletter in the past 90 days.
On behalf of the entire QN team, thank you for making this blog tour so successful. We’re proud of Best Christmas Quilts and we believe the variety of projects and styles means there’s something in the issue for everyone. If you make one of the 28 patterns, we hope you’ll send us a photo at submissions@qnm.com or share it on our Facebook timeline.
Season’s Greetings!
