Here in Golden, Colorado we have had our first taste of winter and I am in the Chrismas mood again. I say again because we started work on our Christmas special Best Quilts for Christmas in May and sent it to the printers in July, so I really did have Christmas in July. It’s available now through our website, just click on the link above.
But the October snowfall got me thinking about winter and Christmas and what I would like to make for the season. Quilters Newsletter offers a free download pattern called Christmas Flag. Christmas Flag was designed by Tina Curran, one of my favorite designers. The really great thing about the flag is that you can make the entire flag or just parts of it. I am thinking about snowflakes. I can make one snowflake, put it in the frame and have a unique gift for someone special. I can make several of the trees and combine them into pillows or a small wall quilt. There are lots of ways to use these wonderful individual blocks. So download some or all of this enchanting pattern and start sewing.

good ideas……i may do this for some gifts this xmas.

It is always a good idea to get an early start.
