Let it Shine. This has to be one to the most breathtaking quilts I’ve ever seen. The meticulous design and workmanship are inspiring to me as a quilter.
I’d second that – absolutely stunning!
I like Spring in My Step…….It is to advanced for me but I love all the color!
I remember when the Spring in My Step issue came in the mail. I spent quite a bit of time looking at it. I love the colors, the way it shades from light to dark, and the various fabric choices. It’s a beautiful, amazing quilt.
They’re all amazing actually. I don’t know how you choose the cover sometimes.
Spring in my Step was my fav! I love spring and it was right on!
they are all great but I think Spring is my step is my pick.
I loved the Oct/Nov cover as I loved the colours used in the quilt.
August/September 2012 is my favorite because I love applique and those roses are so cool to work with….Have a Great New Years!!!!
June/July because it’s patriotic.
Love the cover with Spring in my Step. With the colors and the design that just pops when you look at it.
My favorite is Let it shine. It is a stunner. Blessed to see it in person at the Houston Quilt Festival.
Feb/March is my favorite. About a month after receiving that issue I got to see the actual quilt at the Dallas quilt show. It was spectacular!!!! Elegant with beige background and my favorite color of red.
The June/July issue is my favorite, it’s gorgeous, stunning and downright beautiful! That’s why I have this cover hanging up in my sewing room, that is one fantastic quilt! I can only hope to be able to see that quilt in person some day.
By the way, this is a great question.
Catena Dec/Jan issue is the most amazing quilt. One day I hope to have the skills to make something this fabulous.
Too difficult to choose just one, I love roses, and also just love star quilts Spring in my step, but the work and skill in Let it shine is amazing!
Feb. and March, Star Berries was my favorite. I want to make that Quilt so very much and even wrote the maker but no response. I think it is a sin to put something so beautiful out there with no pattern or any way to buy it. That is why I’m not renewing my subscription after almost 20 years.
Spring in my step !! (October/November) It is beautiful…They all are beautiful but this one is the one that I am drawn to.
October/November is my favorite, not only because of its stunning use of color, and innovative interpretation of a classic block, but also because of what a gracious and effective teacher Ann Peterson is.
Let it Shine from June/July. The design, workmanship, and absolutely stunning use of colour make this quilt memorable.
Spring In My Step is the cover that caught my attention the most.
Aug/sept Love applique quilts & Rita verroca inspires the use of alternative fabrics & colours.
I’m drawn to most of the covers but what I’d really like to see on the cover is a landscape quilt or a humorous quilt.
June/July Let It Shine cover – looks complicated and well pieced
Catena is my fave. Great colour and a more modern look.
And to Emma Cobb – you should realize, after 20 years of subscribing, that many of the quilts featured on the covers are not created by professional quilters or people who ordinarily create quilt patterns, they are labours of love and express the passion for colour and precision that is inherent in most quilters. That they have not provided a pattern for you to copy is no reason to stop subscribing to a magazine that keeps us abreast of the national and internation quilting world in a way that no other magazine does.
Catena for me. I love quilts that are colorplay and stunning layouts combined. This is an excellent example to me.
I love the Album of Roses (Aug-Sept). I have fallen in love with applique lately. I strongly agree with Dianne Ritter’s comment about Emma Cobb’s comment about stopping her subscription. Why??? It is the pattern designers decision to supply a pattern or not. We should miss this beautiful quilt on the front cover just because there is no pattern to copy the exact quilt?
I love the Oct/Nov cover. What beautiful colors & a beautiful quilt. My favorite.
Aug/Sept issue cover. I love applique and am trying to improve my own skills with applique. The cover shows beautiful applique the kind of work that I aspire to some day.
What fun to see Star Berries (Feb/March) pictured here. To Emma, I’m sorry that you feel that you need to end your subscription to Quilters Newsletter. Many of us who create original competition quilts do not have any interest in creating patterns for our entries. Our enjoyment is in the making of the quilt. By showing quilts from national and international quilt shows, Quilters Newsletter provides inspiration for quilters to take their quilting to the next level, see different options for layouts, try new color combinations or just enjoy the beautiful designs of other quilters. I am continually inspired by the quilts shown in this magazine. Emma, if you tried to contact me, and didn’t receive a return message, I didn’t get your message. You can reach me at: GStepanek@sbcglobal.net Donna, Marion and Dianne….I appreciated your comments.
