We notice a definite uptick in our blog traffic when we talk about food. Go figure. This post has little to do with food, more to do with color. I thought I’d share an alternate color way for a pattern we have in our 2012 special, Best Fat Quarter Quilts with you.
Lemon Slice Table Runner in QN's Best Fat Quarter Quilts 2012
Above is a table runner and placemat called Lemon Slice. After drawing the block pattern I wanted to check my paper foundation, so I made a test block. While I liked the black and yellow scheme, I picked other colors for my block. It must have been close to lunch time, because I called my block Berry Pie.

Lemon or Berry, either flavor makes a very nice block and a cheerful project for your home. Happy baking or sewing.
This is what helps me tremendously: Putting colors together that “I” wouldn’t and seeing that it “works”.
