Greetings fellow participants of the Best Fat Quarter Quilts Giveaway, welcome to Day 3! As most of you know, we’re promoting our newest special interest publication, Best Fat Quarter Quilts 2012, on sale now at your local quilt shop, bookstore, newsstand or online at the Quilt and Sew Shop. If you haven’t already, you’re going to want to pick up a copy of this fantastic issue – loaded with 27 patterns that range from bed runners to wall hangings to bed quilts to throws, all for only $9.99.
Just like the previous two days, I’ll be showcasing four patterns and designers from the issue today, so if you like what you see, take a trip over to their blogs and websites and spread some love.
Quilters Newsletter’s creative editor, Lori Baker, designed Beautiful Blues with quick cutting and economy in mind. This large quilt is big enough to use for a bedspread on a queen-sized bed with a plush mattress. Lori used the Life Is Beautiful collection from Red Rooster Fabrics and added some additional fat quarters from her stash to maintain the scrappy feel.
Signs of Summer was designed and made by Amanda Murphy of Amanda Murphy Design. She used the Vintage Summer collection by Yellow Bicycle for Blend Fabrics that add to this runner’s retro landscape. This would be a perfect way to bring the fun of summer to a picnic or patio table.
Jen Daly’s In the Garden features a triple Irish chain and uses a fat quarter bundle of Secret Garden by Lynette Anderson for Lecien Fabrics. Jen’s combination of the Irish chain with the flower blocks peeking through creates the appearance of an intricate lattice.
Rather than going with one collection, LuCrecia Hale of For the Love Designs decided to use a variety of large-scale prints with small-scale prints and monochromatic blenders in similar colorways to create what looks like its own fabric line in her quilt Summer Sorbet. This one-block quilt can be whipped up in no time for your tween or teen.
Onto the free stuff.
Two lucky winners will receive either a bundle of Enchanted Pond by Holly Taylor for Moda or a bundle of selected prints from the Picadilly Circle, Groovin’ and Floral Whimsy collections from Northcott. Leave a comment by midnight MST tonight – January 30 – to enter to win one of these bundles. We’ll draw two names at random. One comment per person please. Open to those who haven’t won anything from Quilters Newsletter in the last 90 days. This giveaway has ended.
As always, make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram to stay up to date with everything from QN. Thanks for participating, good luck!
