Fine Feathered Flock
By Julia Livingston
One way to piece a chicken, by cutting individual patches from templates, has been around since long before 1928, when this block first appeared in Needlecraft Magazine. To create this flock, from Julia Livingston of Studio City, California, paper-foundation piecing seems the perfect way to simplify the construction and update the classic chicken block. If you have some experience with paper-foundation piecing, then you will have no trouble making your flock come alive. You could also change your fabric choices and make a flock of turkeys.
