59" x 59", 2009, by Noriko Endo of Tokyo, Japan. This original show-stopping landscape quilt combines machine applique, dense machine quilting and embroidery with fabric and thread painting. It was awarded the Quilt Japan Prize at the 10th Quilt Nihon juried contest in 2010.
