42.5" x 64", 2011, by Jin Gook Yang of Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea. Yang wanted to show the woman's dynamic beauty. She says she was captivated by the woman's dancing and used mainly red and black for more intensity. After completing the project, Yang was bored of the patchwork so she cut some of the same sized squares and set them on point to offset the background. "It was an adventure to spoil the finished work, but when it was completed it looked so much better." Flamenco is machine-appliqued and free-motion quilted.
