54" x 67", 2012, Jae Sook Koh of Seonam, South Korea. The Peony has represented wealth and prosperity to Koreans since ancient times. Koh asked one of her students to draw the peony so she could make an applique quilt. She completed the quilt top in six months and found the quilting patterns from traditional Korean patterns that have been used for hundreds of years. The entire quilt is hand-qppliqued and hand-quilted.
