"My Daughter's Daughter"
36 1/2" x 42 1/4", 2011 by Dianne Thomas of Fairfax, Virginia. "Born prematurely, my granddaughter required more medical attention than had my children and her first weeks were worrysome. Just past her third week, I caught this double-portrait in which my daughter's face reflected not the worry and fear of past days, but only adoration and happiness. Using the photo as my inspiration, I made a crayon drawing on stretched muslin and went from there to create the quilt."
