It all started with Midlife Muffy, a doll Patrick Lose created in 1993. At the time he owned a shop in West Des Moines, Iowa, where he made custom clothing. Donna Martin, owner of Donna’s Dolls and Country Collections down the street, saw Patrick’s doll and said it would be a hit at International Quilt Market. Dolls happened to be huge in the quilting world then. And that’s where it all began.
