Heavens to Betsy
For the border of the cover quilt Heavens to Betsy, shown on QNM's June issue, Beth Lyda made a variety of paper-foundation pieced stars using patterns from one of the technique's most prolific designers, Carol Doak. Carol and her publisher, Martingale & Company, have generously granted permission for us to present three of the blocks here for the personal use of our readers: Alaska Star, Connecticut Star, and Ohio Star. The blocks are from Carol's book 50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars (Martingale & Company, 2000), available from your local quilt store or online retailer.
